Arithmetic Applet

Directions

  1. Select whether you want to do integer or real number (float) arithmetic.
  2. Enter two values and select an operation. If you have selected Float arithmetic, you can specify whether you want a value to be finite, infinity, negative infinity, or not a number. In the last 3 cases, the value typed in the box will be ignored.
  3. Press Compute. The result of performing the operation on the two values specified will be displayed.

If either of the numbers you enter is not a syntactically-correct number, an error message will be displayed in red below it. Correct the malformed number and press Compute again.
