Introduces formal study of programming language syntax, data types,
and control structures; methods of executing higher-level constructs
at run-time; data structures and algorithms used in compilation and
interpretation. Laboratory work emphasizes acquisition of skill in
numerous programming languages. Prerequisite: CPS212.
